Marine Plankton

Marine Plankton

Marine Plankton is an exclusive food that arrives in the kitchen to intensify the authentic flavor of the sea. The aroma and nutritional value of marine microalgae aroused the interest of the well-known Angel León, known as the "Chef of the sea" (2 Michelin stars with his "Aponiente" restaurant), who introduced the benefits of marine plankton in the kitchen, allowing it to continuously renew itself.

WHAT IS MARINE PLANKTON ?

Plankton plays an essential role in the marine ecosystem. Microalgae, which were the first living things on our planet, produce 50% of the oxygen and are a source of food for fish and crustaceans.

Marine Phytoplankton has recreated the ideal conditions for growing microalgae within its aquaculture farm located in Puerto de Santa Maria near Cadiz, Spain. It is the first and so far the only European company to be able to grow and market plankton.

WHY EAT THE PLANKTON ?

Not only is it a completely natural product, but it also does very well: it is rich in minerals such as iron, calcium, phosphorus, iodine, magnesium, potassium, Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, vitamins E and C.

The taste? Of the sea, of course.
